The Good, the bad and the ugly of Rugby League 2

After enjoying writing the last Good, bad, ugly, I thought I'd adopt that format for a once a week glance at the RL scene.

First, in my opinion, the good:

Wigan nilling Catalan.
Pat Richards - 5 tries and 9 goals is a great effort at whatever level of the game.
The Melbourne defence in the World Club Challenge.
Leigh and Barrow getting the Championships off to an excellent start in front of the sky cameras.
Leigh Sports Village - preparing for three games in three days this weekend.
Shaun Ainscough - scored a hat-trick on his Castleford debut
Oxford and Cambridge provided a thrilling finish to their annual varsity game.
South Wales Scorpions winning their first professional game against Workington.
Halifax - won their game against Sheffield in the last couple of minutes.
Rochdale Hornets - they may have had poor form in the Northern Rail Cup but they got back to winning ways in style with victory over Doncaster 56-24!

Now the bad:

Hull v Harlequins was a snooze fest.
Liam Watt's try for Hull KR against Castleford was in my opinion a bad call by the video referee.
Dual registrations after Widnes lost the services of Shaun Ainscough to Castleford Tigers.

Finally, the ugly:

Keith Senior's public tirade at referee Richard Silverwood following the World Club Challenge.
The speed of the play-the-balls in that same game.

Join me for another Good, bad, ugly next week.
