Comebacks

Lost causes - we all think we've seen them and low and behold the comeback is on, like a punch drunk boxer from a Sly Stalone film, something sparks, a counter attack, a good pass, a telling run.

What is the biggest comeback that you've seen? And no I'm not talking Frank Sinatra or Elvis in Las Vegas.

Mine has to be the 2000 season at Cougar Park. A Martin Wood inspired Keighley stormed to a 28-8 halftime lead over Leigh, only for a virtuoso performance from Anthony Murray to pull the Centurions back into contention and then to the win. 36-28, what a turnaround!

I did witness a comeback of similar proportions earlier this year at Widnes when Gateshead Thunder went 24-0 in front only for Widnes to overhaul them and win 46-30, then there was the Bobbie Goulding inspired St Helens who overcame an 18 point deficit against Bradford Bulls and won on the biggest stage of Wembley in 1996.
