Just for Clarity - Northern Rail Cup Round-up - Workington v Swinton

I must apologise, my previous Northern Rail Cup Round-up failed to mention a fourth midweek game from Wednesday evening when Swinton Lions visited Workington Town.

Town had perhaps the star man of the performance - Scott Kaighan scoring 14 points from a try in addition to kicking five goals, but it was the Lions that won through 19-18 in the end. New centre signing Aaron Low claimed Town's other try.

Swinton's tries came from Gavin Dodd, Carl Sneyd and Gary Hulse. Dodd also kicked three goals while Graham Holroyd potted the important drop goal as Swinton came back from a 10-6 deficit at half-time.

Sadly there were only 286 hardy souls at Derwent Park to witness a game of constant ebb and flow.
