Like Leigh Centurions I am back.
It's been a while but I hope to start updating this blog again with comment on the world of rugby league and the goings on in local amateur rugby and on happenings down at the Centurions.
In my absense of blogging we have seen Super League Grand Finals and the International Season which comes to close at the top level after Saturday's Elland Road Final of the Four Nations. Old foes Australia and England will do battle at this stage for the first time in several years and England will be hoping to avoid the embarrassment that happened last time they met Australia at the same venue when the rampant Wizards of Oz were 40-0 up just after halftime and eventually won 44-4.
Over at Leigh things have been interesting.
Ian Millward is now the man at the helm having officially started his 3 year contract as Centurions boss. He held his first meet with the players last Thursday (5th November) and the first field session took place on Saturday (7th), not Monday as was previously put in the media.
Already several members of the squad have either had surgery, or require it but Ian has been impressed by the enthusiasm shown so far.
Over the next few days I'll be putting details of the squad up here and no doubt I'll be providing the pen pictures of our squad for the official website, which has also become a fancy looking place. In fact it's so far removed from the site I started in 1998, it's scary.
On behalf of my blog - welcome back Ian Millward!
